Katie and I have been married for 3 years! Can you believe it?! We're old fogeys in marriage...almost! Katie is still very attractive (yes even after 1 1/2 pregnancies) and such a major babe to me. She has really helped me grow into a much better person. 3 years ago I was a much different person than I am now and I've changed for the better with help from my lovely wife Katie. Let me list the things she has helped with:
My Listening Skills: Granted they are not perfect but she helped teach me that yes, it is important to gently take your hands off the keyboard and to turn the head slightly in the direction of the speaker. It has really helped me in more than just our marriage, but in church, work, and other interactions. She's a trooper for putting up with the occasional "zoning out" :) Love you!
My Parenting Skills: Katie was the first to let me know that you do not microwave a baby bottle. I thought it would be ok as long as you checked it on your wrist before you gave it to the baby! Boy was I wrong....and thankfully so :) I also learned that it's ok if the diaper isn't on the verge of exploding to change the diaper. I was just trying to save diapers, but she was trying to save our headaches and baby rashes. :) Love you!
My Organizational Skills: Katie is the most organized person I know, and thankfully so. I tried to remember everything in my head but she taught me that it's ok to put something down on paper and use that to help you remember. She does have very high standards in her organizational university, but she's a very good teacher. Love you!
My Bow Hunting Skills: Now.....where was I going with this one.....oh well! Love you anyway!
My "Stand up for myself" Skills: As many of you know, Katie has a strong personality and I love it! It reminds me of the King of Queens episode when Doug and Carrie have a russian crew treat the mold in their house. They leave halfway through and Carrie asks Doug to call them to come back. When she sees how nice Doug (me) is being to the Russian mold crew (customer service), Carrie (Katie) steps in and:
Carrie: "Doug you need to let them know that this is unacceptable!"
Doug: "You know I would appreciate it if you....would please come back and finish the other half of our house."
Carrie: "Say the words 'This is unacceptable'!"
Doug: *stunned, frightened, and confused* "You're behavior is....un........not very nice right now"
Carrie: "Give me the PHONE!"
:) I love my wife since she has taught me how to appropriately stand up for myself so I don't get walked all over, but do it with such tact that the other is happy as well. :) Love you!
I'm running out of time to write the rest of this, but if you couldn't tell, I really love my wife Katie. She is the cutest person and fits me so well! I know I made the right choice to marry her 3 years ago today! I'm so glad that we have had such a wonderful time these past few years learning and growing with each other and I'm so excited for what the next 3, 10, 30 years has in store for our family! I love you sweetie! Muah!
